Wait For You by J. LynnPublished February 26th 2013 by AvonKindle Edition, 323 pages
Synopsis:Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Admittedly, I haven’t always been a fan of New Adult novels as I’ve found with a lot of them they are quite predictable and unbelievably cheesy. Most of them seem to follow this girl meets boy; they both have a “dark” secret and then fall madly in love plotline. In all honestly this never really appealed to me especially as I like unique story lines rather than the same old generic shit. However as the genre has become increasingly popular since the release of Jamie McGuires “Beautiful Disaster” I’ve wanted to push this notion aside and dive right into a few of these beloved books. And now after reading Wait For You, I can say with confidence that I can’t wait to read more from this genre. I don’t know if that’s because Jennifer is an amazing writer or maybe my reading preferences are changing. I guess we’ll find out as I explore NA further.
